China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday that it has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of pecan nuts (Carya illinoensis) originating from Mexico and the United States.
The investigation took effect on Thursday, the ministry stated in a press release.
Evidence shows that Mexico and the United States have engaged in the dumping of pecan nut exports to China, causing substantial harm to China's domestic industry, a spokesperson for the ministry said in response to a media query.
Chinese authorities will conduct the investigation in accordance with the law, fully safeguarding the rights of all stakeholders, and will make an objective and impartial decision based on the investigation results, the spokesperson added.
The probe is expected to conclude by September 25, 2026, with a possible six-month extension under special circumstances, according to the ministry.
