Deep Sea No.1, China's self-developed ultra-deep-water gas field, made new progress as the shipment of the phase II platform jacket structure from Shenzhen of China's Guangdong Province to the planned sea area in South China Sea started on Wednesday.
The 100.8-meter-high deep-water jacket weighs a total of 6,605 tons, equaling the weight of more than 4,400 cars.
After the phase II begins operations, the total natural gas reserve of Deep Sea No. 1 will be lifted from 100 billion cubic meters to 150 billion cubic meters, and the peak annual output will be increased from 3 billion cubic meters to 4.5 billion cubic meters.
