In recent days, Poyang Lake in Jiangxi Province, hailed as China's largest freshwater lake, has seen water levels plummet below the 12-meter low water line.
As of 10:00 a.m. on November 2, the water level of Xingzi Station, the landmark hydrometric station of Poyang Lake, was seen at 10.99 meters. It's expected to enter a continuously receding period under this circumstance.
Due to the impact of rainfall and backflow of Yangtze River, the water level in Poyang Lake stopped dropping from late September to early October. After rising to over 13.6 meters on October 9, it continued to decline. On October 21, it once again fell below the 12-meter line.
