People sewed prayer flags to welcome the upcoming Tibetan New Year Festival, known locally as Losar, in Lhasa, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region on Wednesday.
According to the custom, local people hang prayer flags on the hilltops and roofs of their houses during the Tibetan New Year, wishing for good harvest and prosperity for the country and peace for people.
Many farmers and herdsmen sew prayer flags and sell them on the streets of Lhasa, making the city in a holiday mood.
