The Shanghai Disney Resort announced Wednesday that it will officially implement a new real-name ticketing policy starting Dec 23 this year.

In a statement, Shanghai Disney Resort said the policy brings the resort in line with similar measures adopted by most tourist destinations in China, and it aims to enhance guest experience while supporting government efforts to crack down on illegal commercial activities.

Under the new rules, all visitors planning to enter the Shanghai Disneyland theme park are required to purchase tickets using their own valid government ID. Each valid government ID can only be used to purchase one ticket per visit date.

When purchasing tickets, guests are required to provide their official ID number. Upon entering Shanghai Disneyland, they should present the original physical copy of the valid government ID used for the ticket purchase.

In terms of children, the resort will use age as the only criterion for the purchase of children's tickets and annual passes after Dec 23.

Children aged between three and 11 years old, both inclusive, on the day of their visit can purchase a child's ticket while those between three and 11, both inclusive, on the day of purchasing annual passes are eligible for a child's annual pass. Kids under three on the day of their visit will receive free park admission.
