PBOC to set interbank market transaction data repository, international digital RMB operation center

(ECNS) -- China's central bank decided to set an interbank market transaction data repository and an international digital RMB operation center, Pan Gongsheng, governor of the People's Bank of China (PBOC) announced in Shanghai on Wednesday.

The database involves the high-frequency aggregation and systematic analysis of transaction data across various financial submarkets such as interbank bonds, currencies, derivatives, gold, and commercial paper, serving financial institutions, macroeconomic regulation, and financial market supervision, Pan said at the opening ceremony of the Lujiazui Forum 2025.

The international digital RMB operation center aims to advance the internationalization of the digital RMB and serve financial market business and digital financial innovation, he added.
