(ECNS) -- In less than forty years, China has achieved unprecedented modernization that is difficult for some countries even in two or three hundred years. It has created an economic miracle that attracted global attention. What are the observations of Western economic circles on China's rapid development?

Stephen Perry, chairman of the 48 Group Club, shared his ideas at a conference hosted by China News Service and organized by China News Network on Wednesday.

He said the Chinese path to modernization is unique because the plan is very well considered and laid out. It is a model for the rest of the world and they can learn from the ways that have worked in China.

Speaking of China's fast growth, Perry suggests that it stands out for its long and elaborate plan which takes into account of many different questions. He also noticed that the Chinese government keeps watching the implementation at every stage so that it can make adjustments.

"Because China's modernization is the first time in the world, nobody knows exactly what will happen. They know they have to watch everything very carefully to be sure that they use all their knowledge to make the changes," he explained.

In this unprecedented trial, China has done a great job, he said. "Take agricultural modernity for example, it would take two hundred to three hundred years for some other countries, but for China, it only took under 40 years."

Chinese modernization can be a model for other countries, said Perry. He thinks the Communist Party of China plays a significant role since it is capable, smart, hard-working, and listens carefully to what the people want. It brings modernization to Chinese people, together with a better life. He also urges the world to learn from the strategy of relying on people and catering to the national conditions.

"The solution to the problem of the contradiction between the rate of progress in Asia and the rate of progress in Europe is for Europe to work harder to become more capable in all the technologies, agriculture, service industries, and education," said Perry while pointing out the problems faced by Western countries. With the West motoring at the same speed as China, there will be a lot of opportunities for the West and China to share the benefits, he said.
