Beijing Capital Airport expects over 1.66 million passengers during National Day holiday

(ECNS) -- Beijing Capital International Airport is expected to record more than 1.66 million passenger trips during the 2026 National Day holiday from Oct.1 to Oct. 7, with an average of 237,000 passengers per day, the airport said on Monday.

The airport is expected to serve 9,448 flight movements during the holiday period, or about 1,350 a day. Passenger traffic is forecast to peak on Oct. 1 and Oct. 7, with daily volumes exceeding 245,000.

With only three working days separating the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays this year, many travelers have opted for extended breaks. From Sept. 25 to Oct. 7, the airport is expected to handle more than 3.03 million passenger trips, averaging 233,000 a day.

Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing and Guiyang are expected to be among the most popular domestic destinations during the holiday period, while Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and Bali are forecast to lead outbound travel demand.

To improve the travel experience for inbound passengers, Beijing Capital Airport has launched an international version of its integrated service platform. Foreign travelers can simply scan a QR code with their mobile phones to access a range of online services, including arrival card submission, flight information, airport transportation, Wi-Fi connection, cultural and tourism products, and departure tax refunds.
