(ECNS) — Shanghai Ballet Company has launched a 31-day U.S. tour featuring its original ballet The Love Eterne and the classical ballet Giselle, with performances spanning 13 cities in eight states.

The Love Eterne, inspired by the Chinese folk legend of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, weaves the theme of the violin concerto of the same name into the production to portray the lovers' devotion.

The ballet has toured the United States four times since its debut, winning audiences with its romantic choreography and emotionally resonant story.

Giselle, a landmark of Romantic ballet, retains its classic style while incorporating Shanghai Ballet's own physical expression and emotional interpretation.

During the tour, the company will also hold master classes and pre-performance talks at universities and in communities, giving local audiences opportunities to learn about Shanghai-style ballet and Chinese culture.
