China Great Wall Museum to reopen with more than 700 artifacts
(ECNS) -- The China Great Wall Museum in Beijing will reopen after renovation, with more than 700 artifacts to be displayed in its permanent exhibition.
Bai Jie, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau, made the announcement at the 2026 Beijing Culture Forum on Tuesday.
Located at the foot of the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Yanqing District, the museum first opened in 1994 and was closed for renovation in April 2022.
Covering about 16,000 square meters, the upgraded museum blends with its natural surroundings and will highlight the Great Wall’s history, culture and spirit.
Following its reopening, the museum will also host special and digital exhibitions, aiming to become a national center for Great Wall cultural research and an international platform for cultural exchange.
