Baqen earthquake in Xizang leaves 16 dead, 76 injured

(ECNS) -- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Baqen County in Nagqu City, southwestern China's Xizang Autonomous Region, has killed 16 people and injured 76 as of 1 p.m. Friday, the Nagqu city government said at a news conference.

The quake also collapsed or damaged the homes of 339 households and damaged 20 livestock sheds, officials said.
