China, U.S. in communication regarding top leaders' interactions within the year: FM

(ECNS) -- China and the U.S. are in communication regarding interactions between the two heads of state within the year, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks in response to the question about Chinese leader's upcoming trip to the U.S. later this year.

Head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable role in providing strategic guidance to bilateral relations, the spokesperson said.
