Hainan's offshore duty-free market has seen a strong surge in the first month following the island-wide special customs operations in Hainan Free Trade Port. According to data released by Haikou Customs Sunday, from Dec. 18, 2025 to Jan. 17, 2026, the total value of offshore duty-free shopping reached 4.86 billion yuan (about 700 million), up 46.8 percent year on year.
