(ECNS) -- A China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) train carrying auto parts departed from China Railway Intermodal Wuhan Central Station on Friday, bound for Ulyanovsk, Russia, via Alashankou Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The journey is expected to take 15 days.
The new route is designed to meet the supply chain needs of Russia's automotive industry and provide an efficient, reliable cross-border logistics link for foreign trade companies in central China's Hubei Province. Ulyanovsk is a major Russian hub for automotive and aircraft manufacturing, complementing Hubei's strengths in the automotive sector. The service is expected to reduce transit times and cut overall costs for Hubei automakers expanding into overseas markets.
To support the launch, Wuhan-Europe International assessed export demand and developed a tailored cross-border logistics plan. With support from Wuhan railway authorities, Hankou Customs, China Railway Container Transport Corp., Ltd. (CRCT) and China Railway Intermodal Wuhan Central Station, train scheduling, customs declarations, cargo transport and terminal loading were coordinated efficiently.
The China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) now operates 64 cross-border routes, serving 125 cities in 42 countries and regions across Eurasia. The network's reach, connectivity and reliability continue to improve, strengthening its role as a key link between Hubei and Eurasian markets and supporting the province's opening-up efforts.
