(ECNS) — A freight train carrying 55 containers of Jiangxi-made goods, including toothpaste, tableware and air purifiers, left Nanchang International Dry Port in Jiangxi province for Central Asia on Sunday.
The cargo is valued at 15.37 million yuan (about $2.29 million). The train will exit China through Khorgos Port and head to Central Asian countries including Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The departure follows the launch in September of Nanchang’s first direct freight train to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
The dry port kept foreign trade freight trains running through the National Day holiday.
China-Central Asia trains at Nanchang International Dry Port now run on a regular basis, with an average of four departures every month.
The dry port plans to add new routes and stations and run trains more often.
