First outbound yacht clears customs at Sanya Port's Qingshui Bay area

(ECNS) -- The Chinese-flagged yacht "Yangdu Tong" departed from Lingshui Qingshui Bay Yacht Marina in Hainan Province, south China, for Hong Kong on Monday after completing exit procedures, marking the first outbound yacht clearance since the Qingshui Bay port area of Sanya Port officially opened to international voyages.

The Qingshui Bay port area, together with the Nanshan and Yinggehai port areas, was officially opened to international voyages on July 3, 2026, with approval from the State Council. While the Nanshan and Yinggehai port areas focus on cargo and energy vessels, the Qingshui Bay port area focuses on yacht berthing and provides entry and exit services for international yachts.

In recent years, the Sanya Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station has introduced a series of measures to facilitate yacht clearance, including streamlined procedures for foreign yachts and a grid-based management model. These initiatives have made clearance more efficient for international yachts.

The station said it had pre-screened vessel documents and passenger information and coordinated with inspection units, shipping agents and terminal operators to complete the inspection process efficiently.

Li Yongshan, head of the Second Duty Team at the station, said it would continue to optimize inspection procedures for international yachts to support the high-quality development of Hainan's yacht industry.
