China-Malaysia sports exchange event kicks off in Haikou

(ECNS) -- A China-Malaysia sports and cultural exchange event kicked off in Haikou, south China's Hainan Province, on Saturday afternoon, with six teams from both sides competing in two days.

The event aims to strengthen mutual understanding between players and people from both countries through athletic competition.

In the opening match, Malaysian teams faced local Hainan players in a dynamic display of passing, coordination and attack-defense transitions.

The Malaysian teams demonstrated refined footwork and rapid counterattacking skills, while Hainan's teams used their home advantage with high-intensity pressing and wing attacks.

Organized by the Hainan Provincial Sports Event Center, the event is hosted by the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports and the Hainan Anhua Taiwan-Hong Kong-Macao Liaison Center.
