(ECNS) -- China has dispatched another 111 fire and rescue personnel to the mudslide-hit border port in Xizang Autonomous Region to assist with emergency response operations, CCTV News reported on Thursday.
Organized by the Ministry of Emergency Management and the National Fire and Rescue Administration, the rescue personnel boarding a chartered flight from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport have arrived at the Dingri Airport in Xigaze, carrying equipment for detection, life-saving, breaching, communications and logistics support.
Devastating floods hit the China-Nepal border on Wednesday, leaving at least 157 people dead in Nepal, according to Nepalese police, CCTV News reported on Thursday.
A rescue operation is underway.
