(ECNS) -- A multimodal express freight train loaded with e-commerce goods, including daily commodities and clothing, departed from Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, for Tianjin on Wednesday, marking the launch of the first direct e-commerce multimodal express train service connecting the Yangtze River Delta to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The Yangtze River Delta is a major e-commerce hub with a massive volume of goods shipped northward. Traditional station-to-station transport has struggled to meet the rapid turnover demands of modern e-commerce.
Compared to road transport, this new rail service shortens average turnover times and significantly reduces carbon emissions. By offering closed-loop management from pickup to final delivery, the service cuts operational costs for businesses and ensures highly efficient logistics.
