(ECNS) -- More than 8,200 suspects have been arrested and over 1,000 criminal groups dismantled in a recent coordinated police operation across China, the Ministry of Public Security said Monday.
More than 5,400 criminal cases were solved during the campaign, according to the ministry.
The ministry said predatory online lending, coercive debt collection, extortion through malicious complaints, forced consumption and cyberbullying have emerged as new forms of organized crime.
Police will continue to crack down on both traditional and emerging forms of organized crime, the ministry said.
