(ECNS) -- China and Japan will hold the 15th round of high-level consultations on maritime affairs in Tokyo on April 10, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning confirmed at the regular press conference on Friday.
Mao said officials on both sides from departments responsible for foreign affairs, defense, maritime law enforcement, marine management and so on will attend the event.
she noticed that the high-level consultations are conducted as a comprehensive mechanism of communication and coordination for maritime affairs between China and Japan.
"We look forward to a thorough exchange of views on bilateral maritime issues with the Japanese side to increase mutual understanding and trust, properly manage differences and disputes, and advance practical cooperation in the maritime field," she said.
