Traditional culture-themed flash mob held at Beijing Fengtai Railway Station

(ECNS) -- A flash mob themed on traditional Chinese culture was held at the Fengtai Railway Station in Beijing on Friday.

Chinese cultural essences like Peking Opera and folk music were performed during the event.

Peking Opera actors in costumes sang classical parts of Mount Dingjun and Mu Guiying Takes Command, winning applause from waiting passengers.

Then literary, art and railway workers in Fengtai District performed a series of songs that expressed people’s expectations toward a better future.

 “I came to the Fengtai Railway Station specially today. The ‘Flash mob’ activity is very interesting, and I can feel the charm of the century-old station,” said a passenger.

Such an activity shows the exchange and collision between traditionalhumanities and modern traffic culture and highlights the beautiful image of the central urban area of Beijing in the new era, said a person in charge of the activity from Fengtai District, Beijing.

The Fengtai Railway Station reopened on June 20, 2022. The station building covers some 400,000 square meters. It can accommodate as many as 14,000 travelers in the waiting area and has 32 platforms to serve 32 lines.
