China's game revenues expanded this year by about 14 percent year-on-year to 302.96 billion yuan ($42.55 billion), setting a record, an industry report said on Friday.
The number of game players edged up 0.61 percent to 668 million, also a record high, as the market recovered, the China Game Industry said during its annual conference in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.
China-developed game products generated 256.38 billion yuan in the domestic market, surging by more than 15 percent.
The consumption sentiment and spending power in the domestic game market have recovered, said Zhang Yijun, vice-chairman of the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association.
New game products, including some hot-selling ones, and the multi-device distribution approach also helped drive up sales, he said.
