Sanfang Qixiang, or Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, in Fujian Province has a history of more than 1,000 years. The well-preserved site reflects a grid-like urban planning concept from ancient China and offers a glimpse into the nation's rich history and culture.
First built during the Jin Dynasty (266–420) and expanded in the Tang (618–907) and Five Dynasties (907–979) periods, the neighborhood is now regarded as an "architectural museum of the Ming and Qing dynasties" (1368–1911).
