China Q&A | How does China's high-quality development of AI reshape global AI pattern?

(ECNS)-- With AI becoming a hot topic during this year's two sessions, many are curious about China's future plan in this area. In the latest China Q&A, Chris Brown, director of UK-China Business Environment Programme of British Standards Institution, and Francis Gurry, former Director General of WIPO and Vice Chairman of the World Internet Conference raised questions: What will be some other AI applications in China? And how does China balance open source and the ethical constraints when using AI? 

Responding to the questions, Zhou Hongyi, a member of the National Committee of the CPPCC and founder and chairman of 360 Security Group speaks highly of China's open-source model in developing AI, as it saves cost and boosts efficiency. 

Wu Shenkuo, a law professor at Beijing Normal University and deputy director of the Internet Society of China's Research Center noted that AI now in China is applied to smart city, smart medical treatment,smart education and other areas. It's also conducive to the improvement of national governance and governments' capacity, as well as the enhancement of people's overall life satisfaction.(Chen Tianhao, Gan Tian)
