Visitors line up to celebrate giant panda Meng Lan's birthday in Beijing

Visitors lined up in the rain to celebrate giant panda Meng Lan's 8th birthday at a zoo in Beijing on Tuesday morning. 　

At around 8 a.m., the queue for entering the giant panda pavilion was already several hundred meters long. Tourists at the end of the queue have to line up for 4 hours to see Meng Lan, according to staff members at Beijing Zoo.

The zoo also prepared Meng Lan a birthday pudding cake. 　

Tuesday marked the 8th birthday of Meng Lan, the Third Prince of Xizhimen as he was the third child of his mother Meng Meng. He went viral online for successfully breaking through the enclosure in front of the visitors.
