The opening ceremony of the Cao Cao Mausoleum Museum, located in Xigaoxue Village in Anyang, central China's Henan Province, was held on Thursday. The museum is set to open to the public on Saturday.
Cao was a famous politician, military strategist, and writer in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220).
Bao Guoan, a performing artist and national first-class actor who played Cao Cao in the 1994 version of the TV drama Romance of The Three Kingdoms, recited the poem "A Short-Song Ballad" created by Cao Cao at the ceremony.
The museum will display more than 500 cultural relics unearthed from the site. The exhibition aims to present the actual historical figure of Cao to visitors as accurately as possible. Visitors who can recite Cao's poems will be free to the museum.
