Yang Qiang, a 50-year-old traditional craftsman in Gaoping District, Nanchong, southwest China's Sichuan Province, was busy in his blacksmith shop of more than 20 square meters.
Yang began to learn iron-making from his father when he was in his teens. This craft has a history of more than 100 years, and nearly 5,000 kitchen utensils and farm tools have been made every year on average.
Yang Qiang believes that iron-making is not only a craft but also an excellent part of traditional culture. He hopes that he can help this traditional culture thrive and he is willing to teach free of charge.
