Parcel delivery in Beijing has returned to normal largely on Monday as couriers from across the country are banding together in support of Beijing to help relieve the city's backlog in deliveries due to sharp rise of COVID-19 cases.
More than 2,000 couriers from JD Logistics, one of China's major delivery companies, have arrived in Beijing. They have been borrowed from regions less affected by the virus to help clear a backlog of deliveries.
Yao Hongxu, deputy general manager of SF Express' Beijing division, said the parcel delivery company was past the worst, when 8,000 couriers fell ill and asked for sick leave a couple of days ago.
