As Chinese localities and enterprises ramp up efforts to ensure the supply of fever and cold drugs, personal protection items and other urgently needed goods, many factories are operating 24 hours a day to increase output to guarantee medical services and drugs essential to public health.

In a leading pharmaceutical company in China, staff were packing drugs and other goods in a warehouse on Tuesday. One of the staff said that the drug distribution to the suburbs of Beijing used to be once a day, but now it is twice a day.

"The drugs we distributed were mainly Lianhuaqingwen capsule, cough medicine and anti-inflammatory drugs. We delivered them to Grade A hospitals, community centers and pharmacies," said Ge Qinghua, an employee at China Resources Pharmaceutical Group, "In terms of transportation capacity, it was guaranteed to be around 160 trucks a day. About 16,000 pieces of items were delivered every day."

"More than 300 medical institutions above second level, over 2,200 community primary medical institutions and retail stores in Beijing have distributed about 3.5 million boxes of antiviral and antipyretic drugs," said Huang Dan, deputy General Manager of Beijing Region of China Resources Pharmaceutical Group.

Zhang Zishun, employee of Beijing Food and Drug Administration said: "Now the logistics centers are operating 24 hours a day. As long as the drugs arrive in the warehouse, we will try every means to send them to the pharmacy."

In addition to ensuring the adequate supply of medicines, some enterprises also provide users with all-day online consultation and guidance.
