An 'ice-free' fairytale river in China's Inner Mongolia at -40℃

There is an "ice-free" river running through a wetland protection area in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Although everything is covered with snow, this river is still gurgling.

As a new round of cold air hit Inner Mongolia's Erguna City, the temperature has been below -40℃ for several days.

This river conditions are the result of its geothermal underground. In extremely cold weather, rime scenery will be seen along the river.
