Cross-Strait youth bond via sports

(ECNS) -- This women's basketball team comprises youth from Taiwan and the Chinese Mainland.

With varied occupations, these women of different age groups share the same basketball dream.

Founded at the end of 2021, the team ended fourth in this year's municipal basketball competition held in Xiamen.

"Post-1995s" player Zheng Yishan from Taipei captains the team.

As a basketball enthusiast, she believes teamwork is important.

Sport brings people closer - team members from both sides of the Strait feel like a family.

Basketball is popular among Taiwan youth working in Xiamen, Fujian Province, with competitions serving as a new exchange platform for youth of both sides.

Peng Ouya, from Taipei, said she hopes sports events could promote youth exchanges across the Strait.
