Self-driving buses put into operation in Guangzhou

(ECNS)-- Self-driving Robobuses have been put into operation in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

The vehicles, which are purely electric models, have no steering wheel, accelerator pedal or brake pedal.

They are remotely monitored in real-time, and passengers can stop the vehicle with a brake button in case of an emergency.

The vehicles run on two routes currently in Guangzhou International Bio Island, a river island at the southeastern tip of the city.

Passengers can currently take these vehicles for free.
