China's high-level self-driving subway passes test in Wuhan

(ECNS) -- Traveling at a total distance of 35.1 kilometers and 25 stations, Line 5 of Wuhan subway has become the world's highest grade of automated (GoA4) subway.

As the city's first self-driving subway, Line 5 connects the third ring of the city in the south with Wuhan railway station in the north.

All 35 trains running on Line 5 have been debugged and are operating well.

Trains will automatically conduct remote wake-ups, detect obstacles, open and close doors, wash carriages and other operations.

Without a driver's cab, passengers can see the train moving at full speed through front glass windows.
