(ECNS) -- The Winter Olympics-themed event for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) diplomatic envoys to China kicked off in Yanqing District of Beijing on April 29.
Nearly 40 ambassadors and envoys from the SCO member states participated in the second Beijing International Garden Festival, visited a short track speed skating training base for youth, and attended the welcoming reception.
In 2020, the Olympic Games had come to a standstill due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Vladimir Norov, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, said China has made achievements in epidemic prevention and control, and all twelve Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic competition venues are ready for test events.
He was confident that China would make comprehensive preparations to ensure Beijing Winter Olympics success.
The Beijing Winter Olympics will also reveal to the world the Chinese enthusiasm and warmth, he added.
