(ECNS) -- Several rufous-necked hornbills have been discovered in southwest China's Yunnan Province recently.

The birds are belived to be spotted here for the first time in about 30 years.

The discovery provided crucial evidence that the species still inhabited Yunnan.

Rufous-necked hornbills, with their iconic big yellow beak, are under the highest-level of protection in China.
