(ECNS) -- With the dream of coaching beyond Portugal, Portuguese football coach Hugo Miguel Salgado Martins relocated to Ordos, a Northern Chinese city thousands of miles from his hometown, about five years ago.
Martins was a UEFA A-level and well-known youth football coach in Portugal, where he has produced six Portuguese national team players and three first-tier club members in Europe.
During training, he designs different programs for each player, allowing them to develop their football skills in all aspects.
Though he smiles a lot, Martins is strict on the pitch, which has impressed many players.
He plans to recommend some good players to Portugal for further training.
At the same time, he hopes the concept of youth training he advocates will take root in China, and cultivate more local players that are internationally recognized.
