To celebrate the lunar Year of Monkey, an annual exhibition of Spring Festival customs, folk culture and arts will run from January 30 to February 29 at the Shanghai Mass Art Center, officials said today.
The exhibition, held in its 10th year will display paintings, photos, paper-cutting, sculpture and other items about local people's customs and celebration of spring festival.
Visitors can take family portrait photos, attend creative bazaars and guess interesting lantern riddles. A batch of exquisite bird cages and artworks will also be put on exhibit, telling stories of how old Chinese people had fun during spring festival.
The exhibition has also started a collection of local people's notebooks depicting and recording scenes of family reunion dinners and New Year’s celebrations.
