The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) unveiled the architectural design of the China Pavilion at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai on Tuesday. According to CCPIT, China's 500-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope, or FAST, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, and 5G technology will all make debut at the expo.
The theme of the China Pavilion is "Constructing the Community of Human Destiny - innovation and opportunity". The pavilion will fully showcase China's achievements on the fields of information, science and technology, education and communications. "Smart traffic" will also be highlighted, with high-speed railway simulated driving and intelligent united network vehicle making their debut at the expo.
With its design inspired by the Chinese lantern, the China Pavilion has been fittingly named "The light of China". The appearance of the pavilion will highlight ancient China's four great inventions - papermaking, compass, gunpowder, movable-type printing. It will also be decorated with glass and Chinese traditional lattice windows.
Expo 2020 Dubai will be held from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021. Over 25 million people are expected to visit. Up till now, 190 countries have confirmed their participation in the expo.
