Beijing Capital International Airport will move some of its flights to the nearby Tianjin and Shijiazhuang airports starting from the next year.

That means about 34 flights will be moved out of Beijing every day.

The airport says 6% of the capital airport's flights is expected to be moved away by 2019.

After the re-allocation, the airport will focus on international flights and express domestic flights.

The plan was announced as the airport is now operating at an overload on domestic flights but is facing an increasing demand for international flights.

Currently, international flights only make up for 23.2% of the airport's total flights while the ratio of international passengers account for only 26.3%.

In comparison, the ratio of international passengers at international hubs such as Incheon Airport and London airport are all above 90%.

Which flights will be reallocated will be determined by both the airport and the airlines together, measuring according to factors such as the flights' freight volume and passenger load volume.
