Officials in charge of Dubai's International Airport say they hope to be fully-operational again in the next few days following Thursday's crash landing of an Emirates airlines jet.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, says the runway where the crash landing took place is now operational.
"The runway that was closed because of the incident reopens now at 17:45 local time in Dubai. The aircraft was recovered and moved away from the threshold of the runway and we were able to get the runway open. The concentration now is to recover the operation over the next few days."
At the same time, Griffiths says the investigation into exactly what forced the Emirates flight to crash land will still take some time to sort out.
"As far as the operation of the aircraft and the performance of it, clearly the regulators and the accident investigators are now in the process of trying to determine exactly what happened, and it is not my place to speculate about what the cause of the actual incident might be. I think we'll leave it for the investigation to give us very reliable and forensic evidence of exactly what happened to the flight to cause the incident in the first place."
All 300 passengers and crew made it off the plane safely after it made a hard landing on a flight from India to Dubai on Thursday morning.
One firefighter was killed while trying to extinguish the blaze, which completely gutted the plane just moments after the passangers and crew managed to make it off.
The incident shut down Dubai's airport, one of the world's busiest, for around 4 hours, forcing the cancellation or diversion of over 300 flights.
