Special: 70th birthday of PRChina

Hong Kong General Post Office issued a set of special stamps on Tuesday to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The commemorative set contains four stamps with different patterns such as golden dragon, verdant green leaves, dynamic colorful lines and ribbon, which respectively symbolize the inheritance of Chinese culture, the emphasis on environmental conservation, the development of Internet infrastructure and international connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The four stamps, all triangular in shape, together form a diamond shape resembling a delicate traditional ruyi knot, which signifies the spirit of unity and warm wishes for well-being and harmony.

A stamp sheetlet and related stamp products including mint stamps, souvenir sheet, presentation pack and souvenir pack with the same theme were also issued on Tuesday and will be available for purchase starting from Wednesday.

It will also issue a stamp booklet with China Post and Macao Post & Telecommunications to celebrate the special day.

In addition, China Post, Hongkong Post and Macao Post and Telecommunications jointly issued a stamp booklet on the same day, where stamp sheetlets issued respectively by the three postal administrations are presented in se-tenant style to showcase the solidarity of the people of the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and the shared joy in celebrating this special day.
