China's general public budget revenue, the sum of tax revenue and non-tax revenue, reached about 14.82 trillion yuan ($2.09 trillion) in the first eight months of this year, up 0.3 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.

Of this, the country's tax revenue amounted to some 12.11 trillion yuan, a marginal increase of 0.02 percent compared to the same period last year, data from the ministry showed.

Among the components of China's tax revenue, the securities transaction stamp duty reached 118.7 billion yuan during this period, representing a robust year-on-year growth of 81.7 percent. The increase pointed to the heightened level of activity in the country's capital markets.

Meanwhile, expenditure in the national general public budget reached 17.93 trillion yuan in the first eight months, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.1 percent.
