China has urged the United States to conduct assessments objectively, rationally, and professionally while ensuring greater transparency in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump's signing of an "America First Investment Policy" memorandum the previous week. This memorandum includes multiple investigations targeting China.

In a letter addressed to Jamieson Greer, the newly appointed U.S. Trade Representative on Thursday, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao congratulated him on assuming office and conveyed China's concerns over the U.S. tariff increases on Chinese exports, as stated by the Ministry of Commerce in an online release.

Wang expressed China's willingness to collaborate with the U.S. in creating a more conducive business environment for companies from both nations, aiming to deliver tangible benefits to their respective populations.

Furthermore, Wang emphasized that differences in the economic and trade sectors between China and the U.S. are common occurrences. He stressed the importance of addressing these discrepancies through equal dialogue and consultations to resolve mutual concerns effectively.
