Guizhou province prioritizes the growth of emerging industries such as data services and artificial intelligence, provincial Party secretary Xu Lin said Wednesday at an industry modernization conference.

Xu said the province is developing six major industrial bases, including the national computing power hub, to drive high-quality development and improve livelihoods.

According to Guizhou's 2025 government work report, the province has 48 key data centers under construction or operation. With a computing power capacity exceeding 55 EFLOPS, Guizhou is one of the country's leading regions in intelligent computing resources.

The six major industrial bases serve as a framework for the province's industrial development. They also cover deep resource processing, R&D and the production of power batteries and materials, baijiu (Chinese spirits), energy and industrial backup.

The six bases accounted for 82.1 percent of the province's industrial output. The added value of large-scale industries grew by 8.2 percent, while industrial investment increased by 11.3 percent, the report said.

Guizhou is also modernizing its agricultural sector and upgrading tourism, according to Xu.
