Spring Airlines established a strategic partnership with Booking.com on Wednesday to tap the soaring demands of Chinese travelers.

The Shanghai-based budget carrier and the world's largest online hotel booking platform will integrate their entire platform resources for travelers to book flight tickets and accommodation.

The two sides also unveiled their first co-branded airplane at the Hongqiao International Airport on Wednesday as part of the partnership.

The first Spring Airlines plane with the new livery will fly on all its routes, with a special focus on Japan and Thailand – the two most popular overseas destinations for Chinese visitors, the carrier announced.

Around 130 million Chinese people traveled overseas in 2017, making Chinese the most enthusiastic travelers in the world, according to the National Tourism Administration. Out of the total, more than 7 million Chinese tourists visited Japan and 9.78 million visited Thailand last year.

The newly unveiled Airbus 320 has a blue exterior design with the brand logo of Booking.com, while the interior is decorated with screenshots of the Booking.com app and guest reviews. A discount code will be available on the backs of seats, allowing passengers to enjoy a voucher for Booking.com.

"The launch of the Booking.com-branded airplane is another milestone for Booking.com’s localization commitment in China,” said Marsha Ma, the managing director of Booking.com in China.

Wang Zhenghua, the chairman of Spring Airlines, said the low-cost carrier still has great potential to develop in China. "Our online partnership with Booking.com will definitely help Spring Airlines to create more diversified and personalized services for our travelers," he said.

Under the cooperative scheme, travelers with the airline can choose and book from over 28 million listings on Booking.com through the official website of Spring Airlines.

The carrier, the largest privately owned airline in China, has 78 A320 aircraft and is operating nearly 200 routes covering 10 countries and regions. The airline ranks first place among Chinese airlines as the most punctual.
