(ECNS) -- Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport has opened a direct flight to Seoul, South Korea, strengthening air links between western China and Northeast Asia as regional tourism recovers.

The new route, operated twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, connects Guiyang with Seoul's Incheon International Airport in about four hours. The return journey takes roughly 3.5 hours. Airport officials said the service doubles travel efficiency compared with previous transit options..

South Korea will offer visa-free entry to tourist groups from China, for a temporary period from September 29 through June 2026.

Guizhou has also launched a 5-day tour route starting from Guiyang, connecting iconic attractions such as Huangguoshu Waterfall, the Xiaoqikong scenic spot, and Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village.

Meanwhile, supported by its 240-hour transit visa-free policy, it aims to attract more international tourists.

Guizhou Aviation Group stated that it will continue to expand routes across East Asia and Southeast Asia, aiming to build a more efficient air corridor to further open up the province to the world.
