(ECNS) -- At least 12 people have been killed in two explosions at a police facility in northwest Pakistan, according to media reports.
Most of the dead are police officers. More than 50 people were injured and some buildings collapsed.
An initial blast in the Swat Valley district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was followed by a larger, more intense one, Associated Press said.
Provincial police chief Akhtar Hayat said there was an old ammunition store in the office. It is likely that ammunition caught fire, "most probably due to an electric short-circuit," according to a spokesman for the provincial police.
