Northeast China railway network completes terminal construction

(ECNS) -- Dongfanghong Railway Station, the terminal of northeast China’s railway network, officially completed construction Sunday.

The station was built on the theme “wooden house in a forest", depicting the scene where officers and soldiers who entered the "Great Northern Wilderness" lived more than half a century ago. It symbolizes a monument that witnessed the barren land transformed into a fertile region.

Dongfanghong Station is the only railway hub named after "Dongfanghong" in China. The building project officially started on Aug. 1, 2021.

The newly built station has three floors underground and above ground, covering an area of about 1,800 square meters. As the station is located in the severe cold region of China with maximum temperature differences exceeding 70 degrees Celsius, the exterior of the station building is designed with A-grade rock wool insulation to ensure temperature comfort inside.
