"The moment I took flight, I felt incredibly free, and from then on, the desire to paraglide on Qomolangma took root in my heart," he said.

In 2018, after plenty of practice, Li set up Tibet's first paragliding center near Yardrok Yutso Lake to give more paragliders the opportunity to experience the pleasure of flights in the plateau region.

Meanwhile, he continued to climb, scaling and then paragliding from a number of peaks, including Mount Yuzhu in Qinghai province, Mount Haba in Yunnan province and Mount Sholaphu in Tibet.

He said that paragliding from mountaintops is not easy, as anyone attempting to do so must also be able to climb and have the strength to carry heavy backpacks. "Due to the unpredictable weather at high altitudes, it may also take several attempts to reach the summit," Li said.

And it is dangerous, so Li and his team train and prepare thoroughly before every attempt to minimize the risk as much as possible.

"I have never felt scared before going paragliding. I don't hesitate or fear to do whatever I have decided," he said.

"Qomolangma is not my ultimate goal. I hope to make paragliding attempts from other mountains in the future."
